

Arthur Satyan
Arthur Satyan – jazz pianist, composer, and educator, born in Yerevan, Armenia, into the family of leading Armenian composers.
In the early '90s, Arthur developed into the city's top piano player, working with various combos and state big bands, while simultaneously completing his Master's Degree in Composition from the Komitas Conservatory. In 1996, Arthur was invited to Beirut, Lebanon with his American Trio (Jack Gregg & Steve Phillips) for the opening of the largest casino in the Middle East, Casino Du Liban. Two years later, Arthur was appointed to the faculty of the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, where he currently holds the title of Professor of Classical Piano and Dean of the Jazz Department. Since 1998, he has taught, influenced, and inspired almost every jazz musician in the region.
Arthur has performed and worked with many jazz masters such as Larry Coryell, Charles Davis, Ray Vega, Ed Cherry, Joe Lee Wilson, Melissa Walker, Joe Louis Walker, Deborah Davis, and just to name a few. The quality of Arthur's arrangements, compositions, and piano playing has earned praise from visiting stars like Ahmad Jamal, Zakir Hussain, Rene McClean, Andre Ceccarelli, and jazz masters he jammed with, such as Steve Potts, Stefano di Battista, and Arturo Sandoval.
He released three albums: 'Art for Art's Sake' (2003), 'ARTology' (2013), and 'Playing Around' (2020).
