David Yezhov-Yavrumyan

David Yezhov-Yavrumyan is a prominent representative of the younger generation of cellists. He began his musical journey in Moscow at the age of 10, which was relatively late, but quickly mastered the fundamentals of cello technique. By the age of 15, he entered the Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music, where he became a laureate of numerous prestigious international competitions, including the 1st prize at the S. Knushevitsky International Cello Competition. He performed at some of the best venues in Russia, such as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and the Concert Hall of the Gnessins' Russian Academy of Music.

 

David continued his creative development at the Gnessins' Russian Academy of Music and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the guidance of eminent teachers A.N. Seleznev and V.V. Balshin. He has toured successfully across Russia, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, and other countries.

 

He performs on a cello made by the German master Moritz Hugo Jakob in 1953.
