Francisco Vila
Francisco Vila is an internationally acclaimed cellist known for his sensitivity, rich sound, and technical mastery. He has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, including Carnegie Hall, Disney Hall, and Mozarteum Salzburg. He has collaborated with Gary Hoffman, Cho-Liang Lin, Maria João Pires, Nobuko Imai, and members of the Juilliard String Quartet. He studied at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and Indiana University with Janos Starker. He won 2nd Prize at the Sphinx Competition in 2012 and founded the International Music Festival of Esmeraldas in Ecuador.
He performs on a 1790 Vincenzo Panormo cello and the “ex-Janos Starker” Edward Tubbs bow.
