Vadim Repin

Born in Siberia in 1971, Vadim Repin is one of the leading violinists of his generation. He gained international recognition at an early age, becoming the youngest winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition at 17. Since then, he has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors, and appears regularly in major concert halls and festivals worldwide.

 

His collaborations include artists such as Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, and Mischa Maisky, as well as conductors including Muti, Gergiev, Chailly, and Temirkanov.

 

Repin has an extensive recording career with major labels including Warner Classics and Deutsche Grammophon, with award-winning recordings of works by Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky.

 

In addition to performing, he is the founder and Artistic Director of the Trans-Siberian Arts Festival. He plays a Niccolò Amati violin from 1664.
